Terms of use
These are the rules for using booksy, run by [legal entity name]. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
- You must be [13 / 16] or older.
- Keep your sign-in email under your control. Sign-in codes are for you only.
- One person per account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
What you post
- Reviews, comments, club posts, shelves, and profile details you publish are yours. You give us permission to show them to the readers you choose, to keep copies as the service needs, and to remove them if they break these rules.
- No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content involving minors, spam, impersonation, or posting other people's private information. No content you do not have the right to share.
- Quoting a book is fine. Pasting whole chapters is not.
- We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report anything you see and block anyone. We review reports and act on them.
Books and audio
- Book details and covers come from public catalogues and belong to their publishers and authors.
- The books and audiobooks you can read and listen to inside booksy are public-domain works from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, and LibriVox. They are free to read; the recordings are by volunteers.
Our service
- booksy is free today. If we ever add paid features, we will say so clearly before you pay for anything.
- We work to keep booksy running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; you can export your library at any time.
- We may change or end features. If we end the service, we will give notice and a way to export your data.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That ends these terms for you, except the parts that by their nature continue, such as our right to keep enforcing the content rules on what was reported.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, booksy is provided as is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to [amount, e.g. the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or US $50].
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [State of California, USA]. Disputes go to the courts of [county / venue].
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
